His research has focused on topics such as internet dating and romantic relationships, "happiness and goals, collecting behavior, psychological aspects of film and television, and the relationship between psychology and Zen Buddhism." Georgia Southern's College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences honored him with their "Distinction in Teaching" award in 2002. Since then he has been a professor at Georgia Southern, where he teaches different psychology classes. McIntosh attended the University of Georgia, where he received a Ph.D. ![]()
